Argentina offers reward for capture of businessman's murderer

Argentina's Ministry of Security has offered a reward of 5 million pesos for the capture of 22-year-old Sergio Ezequiel Steimbrecher, who is accused of being an accomplice to the murder of businessman Germán Augusto Sallemi in January 2024 during a fake dollar-buying operation. Through Resolution 1364/2025, published in the Official Gazette, the security ministry is offering the reward for information leading to the arrest of the young man, who has been wanted since January 23, 2024. He is considered a 'prima facie' co-author of the aggravated homicide and qualified robbery. The Functional Instruction Unit of Don Torcuato requested the reward. According to the investigation, the murder was committed by a group of individuals who lured the victim through a Facebook group for dollar exchange, simulating a purchase. They then assaulted him, restrained him with zip ties, and caused his death by mechanical asphyxiation. The reward is for anyone who provides useful information to achieve his capture.
